Alice M. Vasicek

Frankenmuth, MI

Peacefully passed away, January 16, 2022, at her home; age 68 years. Alice Cienki was born on April 15, 1953, in Flint, MI to the late Michael and Esther Cienki. She was a Swartz Creek High School graduate and later attended Mott College. On November 24, 1973, she was married to David Vasicek, he predeceased her on September 25, 2010. She worked at Frankenmuth Fundraising for many years. Alice was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and enjoyed their Bible study class. She was an avid sewer, liked riding her bike around town, loved her morning coffee with the crew at Tim Hortons. Alice enjoyed her monthly dinners with her high school friends (The Dragon Ladies). She also enjoyed spending time with her grandson and granddogs. Alice always enjoyed her family trip to Boyne City and staying in touch with her family and friends.

Surviving are two sons Matthew (Trisha) Vasicek of Vassar, MI, Adam Vasicek of Burton, MI; grandson Colton Vasicek; 1 brother Michael (Loretta) Cienki of Swartz Creek., MI; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Fred (Shirley) Vasicek, Marian Vasicek, Donald Vasicek, Robert Vasicek and many nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by one sister Marie (Thomas) Shelby Sr.; one daughter-in-law Shannon Vasicek; brother-in-law Jack Vasicek.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 958 E. Tuscola Rd., Frankenmuth, Michigan. Fr. Patrick Jankowiak will officiate with burial in Blessed Trinity Cemetery. Alice's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass. There will be a Vigil Service on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to The Frankenmuth Fire Department or Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.
