Obituary

Ann (Sperry) Burns

Frankenmuth, MI, formerly of Saginaw, MI

Ann went home to be with her Savior on January 15, 2021, with family by her side.  Ann was born on September 16, 1927 to the late Carl and Lillian Sperry.  She was a 1945 graduate of Arthur Hill High School.  She married Robert J. Burns, Sr. on September 11, 1948.  He passed away in 1993.  Her work experience started as a seamstress in private and commercial employment, followed by employment as a check-out clerk with A&P food stores, and finally employment with Michigan Bell Telephone.  She retired from Michigan Bell after 23 years of service in 1992.  She enjoyed reading, puzzles, word games, sewing, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her family.  Ann enjoyed attending lunches with her sisters to celebrate birthdays and other occasions.

Ann was the second child born to Carl and Lillian Sperry.  Ann's siblings are Grace Genske (deceased), Elaine Middledorf, Lucy LaFreniere, David Sperry (deceased), Carolyn Mason (deceased), and Christine Forbes.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Ann, who passed shortly after her birth.

Surviving Ann are two sons and their spouses, Robert (Sharon) Burns, and Paul (Chris) Burns.  Ann was blessed with four grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and the friendship of many people in Saginaw and Frankenmuth.

Ann's family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful people who helped Ann in the final years of her life, particularly Shari Burns and the family of Tom and Debbie Baker.  And a special thanks to her sister, Elaine Middledorf, who also dedicated much of her time to caring for Ann.

Memorial services will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2021, 11:00 AM, at the Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 North Franklin Street.  Ann's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday, 23 January, at 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  Private burial will take place at the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Special Olympics of Midland County or the Frankenmuth Lion's Club.
