Ann Johnson

Annie Johnson, 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.  Ann Marie Stromer was born in Frankenmuth on May 26 th , 1933 to the late Carl and Lena Stromer.  She met the love of her life, James Robert (Bob) Johnson, while studying nursing at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. They married and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States during his career as a naval officer, and were blessed with four children along the way in Hawaii, Virginia and Florida.  Ann always considered Frankenmuth home and was extremely proud of her German heritage and family history.  Ann enjoyed life to the fullest, had a story for every occasion and was always up for an adventure.  To know Ann was to love her, she was quick with a joke and brought a smile and warmth to all she met.

Ann was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, James Robert Johnson, USN RET, and by her two daughters, Virginia Marie Snellgrove and Roberta Ann Clark. She is survived by her sons, James (Jane) Johnson of Frankenmuth, Michigan and John (Sharon) Johnson of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Angela (Daniel) Powell, Adam (Amanda) Snellgrove, Lena Clark, Jessica Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Jody Clark and James Johnson; by six great grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Marc) Hersey, Cheyenne Clark, McKenzie Powell, Gavin Powell, Robin Clark and Rayne Matthews; four great-great grandchildren, Kylie Snellgrove, Addison Snellgrove, Marc Hersey and Abel Hersey.  Also surviving are her siblings, Meta Hollingsworth of Hollywood Florida, William (Janice) Stromer of Frankenmuth, Michigan and Christine (Richard) Smith of Coral Gables, Florida.  Ann will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
