Arlene Emma Roth

Went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 12, 2022; age 89 years.  Arlene Schluckbier was born on September 6, 1933 in Reese, MI to the late Rudolph and Emma (Hecht) Schluckbier. She was married to Edward Roth on July 9, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Reese, MI, he predeceased her on September 16, 1997.

Arlene worked in the banking industry from 1968 until her retirement from PNC Bank on October 1, 1993. Arlene was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church of Frankenmuth, MI. She was an active volunteer including 25 years weekly at St. Lorenz School and Church in their copy room, Sunday School Teacher, Mixed Choir, Mission Festival Committee, Fish Fry, Hands of Friendship, Habitat for Humanity, Clothesline, and weekly at Wellspring Lutheran Services.

Arlene enjoyed volunteering, Bible study, going to Florida and California to visit her sons and their families. She always looked forward to seeing her great grandchildren and playing card games with them.

Surviving are three children Mary (Clem) Naples of Frankenmuth, MI, Rev. John (Lisa) Roth of Estero, FL, and Paul (Wan Ling) Roth of Redondo Beach, CA; five grandchildren Leah (Deatrick) Moore, Amy (Bryan) Webster, Justin, Emma, and Silas Roth; six great grandchildren Logan, Addison, Vivienne Moore, and Nolan, Kaline, and Hank Webster; sisters-in-law Loraine Schluckbier, Mable Schwark, and Carol Roth; and many nieces and nephews.

Arlene was preceded in death by 2 brothers Waldo Schluckbier and Earl Schluckbier; brothers-in-law James Roth, David Roth, Lloyd Fuhrmann, August Schwark, Carlton Nebel; sisters-in-law Lois Schluckbier, Bernice Nebel, and Ruth Fuhrmann; and nephews Mike Fuhrmann and Robert Schluckbier.

Funeral service will take place on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola St. with burial to follow in St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery.  Arlene's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at church on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, Thrive Community Church of Estero, FL ( thrive-fl.org ), or Shield of Faith Christian School of El Monte, CA ( shieldoffaithchristian.school ).
