Arno O. Rogner

Frankenmuth, MI

Went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Wellspring Lutheran Home; age 91years.  Arno was born on October 6, 1927 in Frankenmuth, MI to the late Erwin and Edna Rogner.   He married Mildred M. Loesel on August 27, 1955 at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.  She survives him.  Arno honorably served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Bavaria, Germany.  He graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelors degree in business administration.  He was employed by G. Heileman Brewing Company, the former "Carlings" Brewery, as an accountant for 33 years until his retirement in 1990.  Arno was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and served on various committees.  He belonged to the American Legion Post 150, Lutheran Laymens League and Frankenmuth Historical Association. He was one of the originators of the Frankenmuth Credit Union and also an original member of the Marv Herzog Band.  After his retirement he volunteered at Wellspring Lutheran Home for 11 years.

Surviving besides his wife Mildred are: 3 children Daniel Rogner, Patricia (Steven) Block all of Frankenmuth, Timothy (Deborah) Rogner of Dublin, OH; 6 grandchildren Kevin (Kristen) Rogner, Eric Rogner, Jennifer (Justin) Warns, Scott (Melissa) Block, Carla Rogner, Anthony Rogner; 4 great-grandchildren Serena, Gabriella, Alyssa and Jackson Warns; 1 sister Evelyn Erndt of Birch Run and many nieces and nephews.

Arno was preceded in death by 1 brother-in-law Max Erndt and a nephew Frederick Erndt.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. and 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.  Reverend Shawn Fenske will officiate with burial between services in St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery.  Arno's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Foundation, American Legion Post 150 or charity of donors choice.
