Passed away peacefully with family by his side Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Ascension St. Mary's; age 84 years. Arthur was born on November 23, 1938 in Pinconning, MI to the late Mitchell and Donna Matuszewski. He was married to Judy Tenbusch; she predeceased him on June 13, 2021 after 57 years of marriage.
Arthur honorably served in the U.S Army. He was employed by Eaton Corporation until his retirement. Arthur was a pilot and owned his own Piper Cherokee which he enjoyed flying. He was a farmer at heart and collected antique tractors. Arthur was a perfectionist, analyzing everything and enjoying vehicles and how they worked. He also had a dry, witty sense of humor. Arthur was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.
Surviving are: two daughters, Karen (Jeff) Weber of Howell, MI and Cheryl Matuszewski of Frankenmuth, MI; grandchildren Ava and Adam Weber; sister Eleanore (Victor) Malone; sister-in-law Mary Ellen Matuszewski; many nieces and nephews, and his canine companion, Shadow.
Besides his wife Judy, Arthur was preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael A. Matuszewski, and his brothers Fr. Ramon Matuszewski and Edmund Matuszewski.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 958 E. Tuscola Rd., Frankenmuth, Michigan. Arthur's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the I Support the 1% Food Pantry or Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. The Matuszewski family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the entire medical staff on 6 ICU at Ascension St. Mary's.
