Barry L. Bamberg

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away peacefully with family by his side Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Covenant Medical Center Cooper; age 75 years.  Barry was born on June 29, 1947 in Saginaw, MI to the late Charles and Molly Bamberg. He was married to Dorothy Wachowicz, she predeceased him on September 19, 1995.

Barry graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1965. He honorably served as an Army Reservist. Barry was employed by Saginaw Steering Gear/Delphi for over 37 years until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, snowmobiling and auto racing. Barry was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and a volunteer of St. Lorenz Beautification Committee. He also volunteered at Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center.

Surviving are: one daughter, Heather (Jason) Kokoszka of Fairhope, AL; one son, Chad (Shannon) Bamberg of Rochester, MI; two step-sons, Chad (Angela) Potts of Walker, MI and Jason (Tricia) Potts of Reese, MI; grandchildren Jake, Samantha, and Nicholas Kokoszka; Madeleine, Anabelle, and Layla Bamberg; Ethan and Tristan Potts; and Delaney and Jace Potts; two sisters, Kay Duve and Darlene (Tim) Booth; sister-in-law Vera Bamberg; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Besides his wife, Dorothy, Barry was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Bamberg, and his brother-in-law Virgil Duve.

Funeral service will take place on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola St. in Frankenmuth. Barry's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
