Carol J. Speer

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Wellspring Lutheran Home of Frankenmuth; age 90 years. Carol Michael was born on January 26, 1934, to the late Harold and Dorothy Michael.  After raising her family, Carol worked at the Frankenmuth Art Gallery. She loved to cook!  She enjoyed reading, movies, needlework, bowling, watching Purdue sports, her cats, and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her 4 children: Sherry Galsterer of Frankenmuth, MI, Dru (John) Deterding of Frankenmuth, MI, Michael (Mary) Speer of Tuscola Township, MI, and Dawn (Philip) Bernthal of Frankenmuth, MI; 12 grandchildren Matthew (Heather) Galsterer, William (Heather) Galsterer, Stephanie (Marcus) Knuth, Elizabeth (Scott) Merrihew, Emilie Deterding, Rebecca (Ben) Hicks, David (Marion) Speer, Jennifer (Marcus) Underwood, Dru (Adam) Montri, Gwen (Scott) Victorson, Nathan (Karly) Bernthal, and Jacob (Brooke) Bernthal and  31 great-grandchildren.

According to Carol's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will take place with her family. Carol's family wishes to thank the Wellspring staff for their excellent care, kindness, support and patience over the years.
