Went to be with the Lord and Savior on New Years Eve, December 31, 2025 at her apartment in Winter Village, Frankenmuth, MI. Charlotte was born on Easter Sunday April 12, 1936, in Saginaw, MI, but was raised and lived in Frankenmuth, MI her entire life. She married the love of her life, William (Slim) Gilmour Jr. on February 7, 1959 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing in September 2009.
Charlotte started her work life by working at Zehnder's Restaurant while in school at Arthur Hill High School. Following school, she went to work for Consumer's Energy mainly in accounting. After getting married in 1959 she left Consumer's to raise her three children till they were in high school. She then went to work for Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance Co in 1975 in the accounting / payroll department until she retired 1996. She also did the accounting and payroll for Gilmour Construction for many years on a part time basis.
Charlotte was very active in her church and community. She sang in the St. Lorenz Treble Choir for approximately 50 years and also sang with the Frankenmuth Bavarian Singers. Charlotte loved to ride her bicycle and did so all around the town and township. She also loved attending the high school sporting events of her children and grandchildren. She also loved going on vacations with her husband until he would no longer go and then she started traveling all around the country with her son.
Charlotte leaves behind those who loved and will miss her, her sons William Gilmour & Timothy Gilmour of Frankenmuth and daughter Heidi (Van) Bernreuter of Reese. Her five grandchildren Tyler (Lora) Gilmour, Travis Gilmour, Jack (Jenna) Gilmour, MacKenzie Bernreuter, and Parker Bernreuter. She is also survived by her five great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister/brother in-laws Joan Gilmour and Pat & Lee Shepard.
She now reunites with her beloved husband and best friend, William (Slim) Gilmour Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Charlotte Bronner, her sister Elaine Schultz (and husband Phillip) and brother Ronald Bronner (and wife Anne). Also, by her daughter-in-law Lori Gilmour. In addition, brother and sister in laws Don (Mary) Gilmour, Jack (Rose) Gilmour, Robert Gilmour, and Nancy (Richard) Graebner.
Funeral Service will take place on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola St. Frankenmuth, MI. Burial will take place in St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery. Charlotte's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
