Clarence A. Block was born on February 15, 1919 in Frankenmuth, Michigan to John and Elizabeth (Hubinger) Block. On November 20, 2020, at the age of 101, he passed away peacefully at his home. He attended St. Lorenz and Frankenmuth Public Schools and was an excellent first baseman on various Frankenmuth area teams. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School with highest honors in 1938. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Detroit School of Commerce in 1948 and was a CPA for nearly 70 years. He owned and operated a successful CPA firm, with offices in Saginaw, Bridgeport and Frankenmuth. He was known as an excellent CPA who aggressively represented his clients which earned him a large and respectable clientele. He was also very politically involved and

was active for over a half-century in holding politicians accountable to their employers, the people. He was a member of the Frankenmuth American Legion for over 60 years, tirelessly advocated for small businesses through his involvement in the NFIB and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for over 65 years. In 1950, he married Anne Vietti who he always believed was primarily responsible for his success. They shared 60 years together until her death in 2010.

He is also survived by 4 nephews, Edward Block, Robert Loesel, Eugene Block, Ken Block and two nieces, Janet Korf and Charlotte Haney.

Mr. Block expressed his desire to extend special thanks to his nephew, Edward Block, and his friend, George Reinert for their friendship and support over the years. The entire family also expresses their deep gratitude to his caregivers in recent years, Andrew Forge, Jo Anne Goodwine and Cynthia Pierce, as well as Dr. H.
