Daniel A. "Dan" Kempf

Passed away peacefully Monday April 4, 2022, at his home; age 83 years. Dan was born on April 29, 1938, in Saginaw, MI to the late Eli and Maude Kempf. Dan graduated from Arthur Hill High school in 1956 and MSU in 1960, he received his master's degree at CMU. He was married to Margaret (Schoy) Kosche; she survives him. He was previously married to Mary Ann (McNish) Smith, with whom he had two children Julie and Mark. Dan was employed by South Intermediate School in Saginaw, he retired in 1999. Dan was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, Frankenmuth Lions Club, and Rock Steady boxing, where his boxing name was "Dan the Man". He loved doing yard work, he took great pride in keeping up his lawn. Dan enjoyed taking long walks, a good snowstorm and traveling with his spouse, Maggie.
Surviving besides his wife Maggie are children Julie (Steve) Carr of Belleville, Mark (Michelle) Kempf of Saginaw, MI, Michelle (Stuart) Anfang of Longmeadow, MA, Erin (Brian) Braman of Frankenmuth, MI; grandchildren Brendan Carr, Sarah and Rachel Kempf, Michael and Emily Anfang, Andrew and Kayla Braman; and many nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by sister Barbara Firks and brother Milton Kempf.
Dan's family would like to extend a special thank you to family members and Theresa, Bonnie, Tina, Traci, and Charlie.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Burial to follow in St. Lorenz Cemetery. Dan's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin Street on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at St. Lorenz from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Media Ministry.
