David S. Lawrence

Passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 21, 2020, at home. David was born in Saginaw, Michigan on August 16, 1953 to Orson J. and Laura V. (Palmer) Lawrence. David served in the Navy for 20 years from November 1978 to November 1998. He was in Okinawa in 1988. He married the love of his life, Patty Borge, in July 1988. They decided to go their separate ways and divorced in 1997. When David retired in November 1998 from the Navy, he decided to move back to Frankenmuth to help with his father and mother. He worked at the VA hospital in Saginaw, Michigan until he retired in 2008. David loved golfing and it was something he really enjoyed. He also liked gardening and working in the yard.

David was preceded in death by his father, Orson, mother, Laura, and sister, Jill.

He leaves behind his brother, Greg (Tina) Lawrence, his nephews, Greg II, Daniel (Jason), and Brandon (Jen), nieces Erica, Ashton (Scott), Whitney (David), and many great nieces and nephews. David loved family, friends, and get togethers. He also leaves his very dear friend Chris Tubbs and many golfing friends. David was a sweetheart and had a heart of gold.

Funeral services will take place Friday, June 26, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1200 E. Genesee, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Patrick Ernst will officiate with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. David's family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. John's Lutheran Church.
