Donald Michael Lichon

Frankenmuth, MI formerly of Saginaw

Peacefully went to be with the Lord Monday, December 13, 2021 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease, age 79 years. Donald was born on June 24, 1942 in Saginaw, MI to the late Stanley and Emma Lichon. He was married to Jean on December 31, 1988 at Frankenmuth United Methodist Church; she survives him.

He graduated from Saginaw High School in 1960, and was a member of the J-ROTC and the swim team. After high school Don honorably served in the US Navy for 4 years and then when he came home, he worked for GM in the foundry. He reenlisted in the Navy in June of 1964 and served overseas in the Vietnam War for 2 years. Donald then worked for GM as an electrician for 36 years. He was a member of Frankenmuth United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 439 in Saginaw. Donald enjoyed bowling, he had 29 - 300 games. In 2015 Donald was inducted into the Saginaw Bowling Hall of Fame. He had bowled in every bowling alley in Saginaw County. He also loved golfing, he had 3 hole-in-ones, and was a longtime member at the Sawmill Golf Course. Donald also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, traveling, and was an all-around good sportsman and outdoorsman.

Surviving besides his wife Jean are children: Dawn Yockey, Debrah Yockey (Melody), Brian (Glory) Lichon; stepson David (Susan) Dzioba; stepdaughter Diane (John) Landers; grandchildren Jett, Xavier, Xiomarra, Justin, Ben, Jamie (Christina), Joshua (Kaitlyn), and Tylin; great grandchildren Matthew, Nolan, Savannah, and Brennan; sister Barbara (Jim) Chernow; brother Dennis (Nancy) Lichon; sister-in-law Gisela Lichon, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brother Gary Lichon.

Memorial Service will take place on Saturday May 21, 2022, at 12 p.m. at Frankenmuth United Methodist Church, 346 Vates St., Frankenmuth, Michigan. Donald's family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Frankenmuth United Methodist Church or the Rock Steady Boxing Group at Diversified Frankenmuth.
