Loving and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Covenant Glen of Frankenmuth, after a lengthy illness. Doreen was born on April 3, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Dan and Marie (Tessmer) McLennan. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree. Doreen married James Weber on August 26, 1961.
In addition to being a homemaker, Doreen was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, Friends of the Library, Board of Directors of the Frankenmuth Historical Association, and Saginaw Genealogical Society. An avid genealogical researcher, Doreen compiled and wrote "The Weber Family: A Genealogy of 2 of the original 15 settlers of Frankenmuth, Michigan in 1845."
She is survived by: her husband, Rev. James Weber; son Keith (Marcie) Weber; daughter Dr. Brenda (Thomas Jr.) Coughlin; grandchildren Benjamin (Kady) Coughlin, Shannon Coughlin, and Sean Coughlin; brother Norman (Marilyn) McLennan; brother-in-law Roy (Diane) Midgley; nephew Mark (Molly) Midgley; nieces Faye (Daniel) Woodley; Pamela Jeffries; and Lynne (Terrence) Ott; and niece-in-law Sandy Sturm.
Doreen was preceded in death by: sister, Jesse Midgley; sister-in-law Virginia Sturm; brother-in-law, Richard Sturm; nephew, Jeffrey Sturm; and nephew-in-law, Scott Jeffries.
Doreen's funeral service will take place on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Her family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the beginning of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those making an expression of sympathy consider giving a memorial to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church or Frankenmuth Historical Association.
