Passed away peacefully Monday July 29, 2019 at Hoyt Nursing Home; age 93 years.  Doris Leidel was born on May 22, 1926 in Saginaw, MI to the late Jacob and Martha (Roedel) Leidel. She was married to Carl Hochthanner on October 30, 1948, He predeceased her on June 9, 2013. She was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. Her later years Doris worked at Bavarian Motor Lodge as a housekeeper for 18 years. She loved gardening, baking, puzzles, crocheting and being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are: 3 children Nancy (Stuart) Bierlein of Vassar, MI, Marcy (Matt) Buchinger of Reese, MI, Merle (Lisa) Hochthanner of Frankenmuth, MI; grandchildren, Melinda Tysick, Stephanie  (Brian) Calloway, Ashley (Micah) Laux, Becky (Eric) Ball, Jordan(Michelle) Buchinger, Lance, Spencer and Whitney Buchinger, Nichole, Lauren and Nathan Hochthanner; great-grandchildren, Aidan and Ethan Tysick, Jackson Calloway and expected great-granddaughter Baby Calloway, Kendra and Landon Laux, Lillian and Jacob Ball, Charlie and Joseph Buchinger.

Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Wilmar (Gretchen) Leidel; sister, Milda (Fred) Braeutigam; sister-in-law, Margaret (Reuben) Heinlein.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. and 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.  Rev. Joel Kaiser will officiate with burial between services in St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery.  Doris's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 10:15 a.m. prayer service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church or Charity of Donor's Choice.
