Doris G. Koopman

Frankenmuth, MI (Formerly of Allen Park, MI)

Passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Covenant Healthcare Cooper; age 95 years.  Doris Freeman was born on June 3, 1922 in Detroit, MI.  She was married to Charles Koopman, who predeceased her in May of 1982. Doris worked at DeSoto as an Executive Secretary to the company president and later as a church secretary for many years.  After her retirement she volunteered at Wickson Memorial Library, then spent 25 years volunteering at List Elementary School.  She devoted her life to taking care of others, especially children.

Surviving is a son, Thomas (Mary) Koopman of Swartz Creek, MI.

Besides her husband Charles, Doris was preceded in death by a son, Robert Koopman in 2016.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin Street.  Pastor Joseph Berkobien will officiate, with burial at Crestwood Memorial Gardens in Grand Blanc, Michigan.  Doris's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to List Elementary School Library.
