Dec 15, 1954 — Oct 30, 2024
Dorothy L. Buchinger
Frankenmuth, MI
After a long courageous battle with cancer, Dorothy peacefully passed away at home and was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 30, 2024; age 69 years. Dorothy was born on December 15, 1954 to the late Carl and Lorine (Stern) Haubenstricker and was raised on the family farm in Frankenmuth.
Dorothy was baptized at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, attended and was confirmed at St. Lorenz Lutheran School, and graduated from Frankenmuth High School. She worked at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant where she met her husband of 44 years, Jeff. She lived in Frankenmuth her whole life raising her three children, Ryan, Justin, and Chanda. Together they shared many memories together at the family cottage in Caseville. Dorothy enjoyed her big family's many gatherings, especially the yearly Christmas parties. Dorothy took great joy in making her house a home with her flower gardens, decorating for all the holidays, and baking for her special grandsons Dylan and Caleb.
She loved and was an active member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, sang in the choir, served in Mary Martha, Prayer Pals, Thursday Morning Bible Class, and enjoyed spending long nights with her friends in the book club.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Jeff, sons Ryan (Julie) Buchinger, Justin (Amy) Buchinger, daughter Chanda (Ben) Harris; grandsons Dylan and Caleb Buchinger; step-grandsons Aiden Harris and Dustin Alt; brothers Eugene (Christina Gugel) Haubenstricker and Dennis (Gloria) Haubenstricker; sisters Luci (Dave Fiant) Wallace, June Kern, and Bonnie (David) Weiss; brothers-in-law Randy (Dorothy) Buchinger and Joel (Debra) Buchinger; mother-in-law Shirley Weber; sisters-in-law Anna Haubenstricker and Lisa Haubenstricker; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
