Dorothy C. Gugel-Bierlein

Frankenmuth, MI

She was received in Heaven by her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Covenant Glen; age 91 years. Dorothy was born on June 1, 1931 in Saginaw, MI to the late George and Clara Campau. Dorothy was married to Raymond Gugel on November 5, 1950; he predeceased her on November 29, 1981. She later married Carl Bierlein on December 17, 1989; he predeceased her on October 8, 2014.  Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. She was a natural caregiver and volunteered in many capacities at local nursing homes. She was proud of her heritage, being part of the family of the first non-native settlers local to the area.

Surviving are five children, Dianne (Jimmie) Carr, Linda (Gary) Stelmach, George (Gaylene) Gugel, Christine (Eugene Haubenstricker) Gugel, John (Deanna) Gugel; grandchildren Julia (Jason) Foco, Ron (Theresa) Henderson, Elizabeth (David) Hozeska, John (Kyle) Stelmach, William Stelmach, Kasey (Eric) MacKinnon, Lindsey (Mitchell) Townsend, Greggory (Megan) Gugel, Amanda Stokes, John Jr. (Heather) Gugel, Erica (Mario) Barajas; fifteen great grandchildren; six great, great grandchildren; three stepchildren Warren, Brian, and Pam Bierlein, and six step grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, November 25, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Dorothy's family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The service will be live streamed on the St. Lorenz website.
