Duane Gerstenberger

Frankenmuth, MI

Concluded his service here on Earth Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at his home; age 87 years. Duane was born on April 19, 1935 in Brown City, MI to the late Raymond and Ruth Gerstenberger. He was married to Darlene Jobe on August 2, 1958; she survives him. Duane proudly served for 37 years with the Michigan State Police Department. He was an active member of Frankenmuth United Methodist Church. Duane loved traveling, U of M football, and spending time at Higgins Lake. Most of all Duane loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving besides his wife Darlene are one son and two daughters, Michael (Claudia) Gerstenberger of Lake Orion, MI, Sue (Mike) Warnemuende of Frankenmuth, MI, Jill (Ed) Leto of Frankenmuth, MI; grandchildren Amy, Jessica (Ryan), Anthony (Haley) Derek (Adrianne), Nick, Andrew, Jacqui (Travis), Ed (Carmen), Chris (Nancy), Julie (Christian); one brother Lester (Margaret) Gerstenberger, and a niece and nephew.

Duane was preceded in death by one grandson Daniel Stockwell and one brother Raymond Gerstenberger Jr.

Memorial Service will take place on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 12: 00 p.m. at Frankenmuth United Methodist Church, 346 Vates St., Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Ryan Wenburg will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Duane's family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
