Edward L. Davis

Edward L. Davis was called home by our Lord and Savior on Friday, July 7, 2023. Edward was born April 14, 1937 in Saginaw, MI to Ralph and Dorothy (Fuller) Davis. Edward attended Carrollton and Saginaw Public Schools. He served as Sergeant in the 125th Infantry, National Guard. Edward retired as a sales manager and top salesman for Frito Lay, Inc. in 1994.

He was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church, Bridgeport, MI on May 20, 1956. He always said Jesus was his first love. He leaves the second love of his life, Louise (Ruffert) Davis, whom he met in Junior High choir and married July 14, 1956 at Faith Lutheran Church. Edward continued to serve his Lord in his vocation and his church life, serving as a Sunday school teacher, playing the role of Andrew in The Last Supper drama, bible study, Evangelism, choir, and elder for many years. He served his community as a volunteer in any way that was needed.

Edward will be missed by his children Mark (Linda) Davis, Lisa (Michael) Wolters, Aleta Davis, and Eric (Saundra) Davis. He was a loving grandfather to Saira, Aaron, Naomi, Leah, Luke, Elena, Travis, Christiana, Cord, Jesika, Sage, Emy, and Drew. He was a loving great-grandfather of twenty-four.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ralph Davis, in-laws Hugo Ruffert and Evelyn Rau, a dear aunt Betty Wray, and many dear friends.

Edward will be forever remembered for his beautiful voice, bright smile, and his loving and caring heart. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort knowing he is in the arms of Jesus.

Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 4241 Williamson Rd. Bridgeport, MI. Pastor Tim Behnke will officiate with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Edward's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Monday, July 10th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Faith Lutheran Church, Bridgeport or LCMS Mission Central.
