Edward J. Haubenstricker

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024 after a lengthy battle with cancer at Bavarian Comfort Care; age 66 years. Edward was born on December 27, 1957 to the late Ivan and Margaret Haubenstricker. He was married to Catherine King on September 7, 1985, she survives him. Ed worked for GM for 44 years, until his retirement in 2020. He was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Ed was an avid bowler, he enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, and participating in the Frankenmuth Auto Fest. He was a sports enthusiast who loved to cheer for Frankenmuth High School teams, the Detroit Tigers, and had a passion for Michigan Football. Ed loved spending time with his family. His greatest joy in life was being a Poppa, in which he gave his all to be the best!

Surviving besides his wife Cathy are two children Brad (Christie) Haubenstricker of Spring Hope, NC and Taylor (Spencer) DeVries of Zeeland, MI; and dearly loved grandchildren Piper, Rory and Dawson; brothers Paul (Connie) Haubenstricker, Mark (Monica) Haubenstricker, and Phil (Luanne) Haubenstricker; mother-in-law Susan King; brothers and sister-in-law Mike King, Shari (Mike) Ameling and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his father-in-law Larry King, and dear friend Jim Schmitzer.

Funeral Service will take place on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Ed's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center, St. Lorenz Foundation, or the St. Lorenz Landscaping Fund.
