 Edwin Martin Ehrlinger

Fell asleep peacefully with family by his side at Covenant Glen in Frankenmuth on June 3, 2026; age 95. Born February 20, 1931 in Frankentrost to George and Bertha (Schiefer) Ehrlinger. Edwin lived in Frankentrost his entire life. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Edwin served in the U.S. Army from December 1952 – November 1954. He married Marion Hecht on June 18, 1955 and they celebrated 70 wonderful years together; she survives him.

He was a member of Blumfield Twp. Volunteer Fire Department. Edwin farmed his entire life and loved to spend peaceful time in the Ehrlinger family woods. He was also employed at Frankenmuth Frosted Foods, Universal Engineering, and Carling Brewing Company. Edwin enjoyed traveling, gardening, putting together puzzles, and playing euchre. Edwin loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren on outings and family events.

Surviving besides his wife Marion are their children Mary (Dennis) Reinbold of Reese, Charlene (Brian) Murley of Saginaw, Sally (Charles) Frahm of Frankenmuth, Michael (Kathy) Ehrlinger of Reese, and Randy (Kris) Ehrlinger of Warsaw, IN.; 12 grandchildren Philip (Heather) Reinbold, Matthew (Kristal) Reinbold, Daniel (Jordan) Reinbold, Melissa (Ryan) Berens, Neil (Jamie Reif) Murley, Rachel (Brandon) Bivens, Justin, Brandon, and Meagan Frahm, Courtney (Joshua) Struck, Joshua and Jordan Ehrlinger; 17 great grandchildren; brother Melvin Ehrlinger; sisters-in-law Alma Hecht and Marilyn Hecht, and many nieces and nephews.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents George and Bertha; mother-in-law Florence (Clarence) Hecht; infant son Gary; sisters Viola Ehrlinger, Bernice Auernhammer; brothers-in-law Roy Auernhammer, Reinhold Hecht, Lloyd Hecht, and sister-in-law Ruth Ehrlinger.

Funeral Service will take place on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 8220 Holland Rd., Frankentrost, MI. Rev. Mark Loest will officiate. Burial to take place in Immanuel Lutheran St. John’s Frankentrost. Edwin’s family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. Frankenmuth, on Sunday, June 7th from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Frankentrost.
