Elaine B. Maurer

Vassar, MI

Went home to be with her Lord on Friday, June 29, 2018, at James E. Cartwright Hospice; age 89 years.  Elaine Zehnder was born on February 6, 1929 to the late Harold and Erna Zehnder.   She was married to Arnold Maurer at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church on October 30, 1954; he predeceased her on November 20, 2002.  Elaine was employed by Zehnder's Restaurant and the Frankenmuth Woolen Mill.  She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville, MI and the Mary Martha Guild.  Her hobbies included cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, gardening and reading.

Surviving Elaine are: daughter, Christine Maurer of Vassar, MI; Richard (Linda) Maurer of Marietta, GA; Margaret (Raymond) Jivery of Tempe, AZ; Timothy (Mary) Maurer of Lake Ann, MI; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Marian (Carl) Schneirla; two brothers, Melvin Zehnder and James (Sherrill) Zehnder; seven sisters-in-law, Dorothy Weber, Lenore Poellet, Ruth Bergdolt, Carol Bergdolt, Lois Bergdolt, Bonnie Bergdolt and Doris Zehnder; a brother-in-law, Wilmar (Joan) Bergdolt; and many nieces and nephews.

Elaine was predeceased by three brothers, Wallace Zehnder, Donald Zehnder and Raymond Zehnder; a sister, Lorraine Zehnder; three sisters-in-law, Erna Hutchison, Lorna Weiss and Marilyn Zehnder; and three brothers-in-law, Raymond Bergdolt, Norman Bergdolt and Paul Bergdolt.
