Eleanor Gilbert

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Covenant Glen; age 94 years. Eleanor was born October 22, 1927 to the late Howard and Lenora Lockyer. She graduated from Mayville Highschool. Eleanor married William Gilbert on June 28, 1947; he predeceased her on October 7, 2007. Eleanor worked at Wiechmann's in the bridal department as a seamstress and Oscar Rau's Furniture Store. Eleanor enjoyed sewing, line dancing, tending to her flower garden and spending time with her children and grand kids.

Surviving are son Randy (Pauline) Gilbert of Bridgeport, MI; daughter Sheila (Al) Weiss of Frankenmuth, MI; grandkids Brent (Amanda) Weiss and Matthew Weiss, Belle (Jamie) Bickel, Jessica (Rob) Scott, Craig (Sarah) Gilbert; 15 great grandkids; 2 sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by 2 brothers; 1 brother-in-law, 1 sister-in-law, son Gary Gilbert; granddaughters Tammy Gilbert and Stacy Weiss.

Funeral service will take place on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola St. Burial to take place in St. Lorenz Cemetery. Eleanor's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
