Ellen Mills

Frankenmuth, MI

Went to be with the Lord Monday, July 15, 2019, at Avista Nursing and Rehab in Saginaw; age 84 years.  Ellen Cass was born on June 3, 1935 to the late Charles and Lily Cass.   She was married to Gordon Mills on February 14, 1959, he predeceased her on November 1, 2008. Ellen taught math at Bridgeport Junior High until her retirement in 1989. She was also a member of the MEA and NEA.  She was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church where she was active in many capacities.  Ellen was a Girl Scout Leader, and Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are:  a son David Mills of Mt. Pleasant, MI; 3 daughters Deborah Mills-Harris and fiancé Collin Jurkovich of Frankenmuth, MI, Carrie Thieme of Clio, MI, Sandra MacKain and fiancé Donald Jones-Cabela of Williamsburg, IA; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; special children JoAnn Anderson of FL and Al Thieme of Bridgeport, MI; 2 brothers Louis Cass and Donald (Janice) Cass;  sisters and brothers-in-law; Emma Cass, Jean Cass, Marilee Mills, Dorthann (Kenny) Teed and Dewayne (Lorraine) Mills and  many nieces and nephews.

Ellen was preceded in death by: a granddaughter Gabrielle; 2 brothers Charles Cass and Jim Cass, and a sister Joann Johnson.

Funeral Service will take place on Saturday July 20, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan.  Cremation to follow.  Ellen's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Lorenz Youth Group, or Alzheimer's Association.
