Emily R. Maurer

Birch Run, MI

Went home with her Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Covenant Medical Center, after a brief illness; age 77 years. Emily Schallhorn was born on June 14, 1947 to the late Emil and Ruth Schallhorn. Emily married James Maurer on May 4, 1968; he survives her. Emily worked for AAA, and Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance, until her retirement. She was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Emily enjoyed fishing with her husband James, she enjoyed knitting, doing puzzles, reading, shopping, and traveling. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving besides her husband James are one daughter Sara (Mark) Bolsoni of Elmhurst, IL; five grandchildren Dmitry, Oliver, and Violet Bolsoni, and Anna and Henry Maurer; daughter-in-law Jessica Maurer of Commerce, MI, and many cousins and close friends.

Emily was preceded in death by her son Jeremy Maurer.

Memorial Service will take place on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Joel Kaiser will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Emily's family will receive visitors at the church on Monday, February 3rd from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
