Floyd C. Marsh

Bridgeport, MI

Passed away after a short illness Sunday, October 22, 2024; age 95 years. Floyd was born on July 15, 1929, in Bay City, MI to the late Floyd A. and Beatrice (Norrington) Marsh. He married Edna Knoll on November 12th, 1955; she predeceased him on March 21, 2021.

Floyd worked at S & E Machine, Precision Tools and repair and then started his own business, Bridgeport Tool Service, where he designed carbide and diamond cutting drills and tools for machine shops. He also owned the Paddock Bar in Vassar for a number of years and was a gentleman farmer.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, an avid bowler, golfer, boy scout leader, archer at the Frankenmuth Bowman, member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bridgeport, MI and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He loved his family, golfing, hunting, fishing, swimming, archery, and cards.  He and his wife of 60 plus years loved to travel and visited many places in the USA and abroad.

Floyd is survived by his daughter Sandra Marsh of Plainwell, MI; his son Mark (Lisa) Largo-Marsh of Augusta, MI; his grandchildren Lydia (Brad) Theil, Tyler (Shannon) Ford, Kelsey (Skye Thrasher) Ford, Jordan (Lauren) Ford, Laura Marsh (Collin Kelly), and Paul Marsh; his 7 great-grandchildren; his daughter-in-law Lyne Marsh; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife Edna, Floyd was preceded in death by his son Tom Marsh and his in-laws, Andy and Marion Weiss and Don and Vera Pashby with whom time was spent smelt dipping, fishing, and playing cards.

Funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home, 590 N. Franklin St. Frankenmuth, Michigan. Interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Floyd's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Heart association.
