Floyd Rau

Passed away peacefully with family by his side Thursday, February 2, 2023 at his home; age 92 years. Floyd was born to the late Walter and Helen (Abraham) Rau in Tuscola County on October 2, 1930. He was married to his best friend and the love of his life, Grace Krapohl, for over 68 years. They were married on January 29, 1954, she predeceased him on May 26, 2022. Floyd worked as a produce manager at Abner-Wolf cash and carry until his retirement. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church since 1960. Together Floyd and Grace loved to travel and visited over 40 countries and 5 continents.

Surviving are four children: Roger Rau of Bridgeport, MI, Randy (Connie) Rau of Indianapolis, IN, Linda (Tony) Fortunato of Greenacres, FL, and Cindy (Scott) Martini of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren Mindi Coombs, Ryan (Jessica) Rau, Anthony (Zarina) Fortunato, Samantha (Jarrett) Campbell, Tyler (Abby) Martini, and Danielle Martini; seven great grandchildren; sisters Lois Steffen and Ruth Riedeman, sister in- law Dorothy Devereaux.

Floyd was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years Grace Rau, grandson Austin Martini, and his great grandson Kevin Coombs.

Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 6065 King Rd. Bridgeport, MI 48722.  Rev. Rheanna Goodrich will officiate with entombment to follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Floyd's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
