Obituary

Frances Fischer

Frankenmuth, MI

Frances passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at her home with family by her side. Frances Hecht was born on July 31, 1930 to the late Otto and Rose Hecht. She was married to Stanley A. Fisher on April 10, 1948; he predeceased her on October 15, 2001. Frances was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Frankenmuth which kept her faith strong and loved her church family. She was an officer of the Saginaw Women's Bowling Association for many years. Frances worked very hard in the restaurant industry all of her life. She could quite literally make you "dinner out of a dish rag!" Work was always one of her passions but when work was done, she would happily take your money in nearly any card game you could play. Her retirement was filled with her grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting events, many trips to the casino and perfecting her professional shopping hobby. You would rarely catch her with a chipped fingernail or hair out of place. She had a cleanliness standard second to none.

While affectionately known as Grandma Fran to countless people only ten were lucky enough to truly call her Grandma. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Surviving are her children: Barbara Fischer and husband William Leiteritz, Kathy (Allen) Roedel, Ted (Karen) Fischer. She is also survived by one brother Donald Hecht and many special nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by 2 brothers Earl Hecht and Roy Hecht.

A special thank you goes to granddaughter Hanna Ignash for years of going above and beyond taking care of her Grandma's needs.

Endings matter. Not just for the person, but perhaps even more for the ones left behind.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions a private service has taken place. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. John's Lutheran Church, Frankenmuth. Arrangements entrusted to Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth.
