Frederick Lawrence Zwack was called to his eternal home September 9, 2024 at Covenant Heath Care in Saginaw, MI. Fred was born February 6, 1943 to the late Frederick and Natalie (Hildner) Zwack. Fred graduated from Frankenmuth High School in 1961 and then started to work for Baker Sales and Services as a mechanic advancing to service writer at Zehnder Chevy Buick of Frankenmuth, Michigan. He loved meeting customers and helping with their car needs. He retired after 48 years of service.
Fred was confirmed at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church on April 14, 1957, where he was a lifetime member. He married Karen Semmelroth on May 28, 1966 in Quincy, MI; she survives him. Fred and Karen loved traveling internationally especially to visit Zwack cousins in Abenberg, Germany. He also loved his 1963 Corvair Convertible that he restored and cherished, along with tending to his garden and lawn.
Surviving besides his wife Karen are one brother Ernst (Ruth) Zwack, nieces and nephew Barbara Mize, Ken Meyerholt, Tracy Scholtz, Victoria Mathews, Michaele Mathews, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Thelma Mathews, and many cousins and friends.
Fred was preceded in death by one sister Norma Meyerholt-Romaine, and nephews Karl Meyerholt and Kevin Meyerholt.
Funeral service will take place Friday, September 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1200 E. Genesee, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Patrick Ernst will officiate with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Fred's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
