Gary joined the Lord unexpectedly on December 15, 2021, at the age of 73. He was born on March 5, 1948, to Adolph and Loretta (Bickel) Bierlein, they predeceased him. He married S. Andrea Zoellner on April 8, 1972, she predeceased him on November 11, 2018. Gary started working at Baker Chevrolet in high school which then became Zehnder Chevrolet for a total of 44 years, before taking a job at Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance. He retired in 2016.
Gary was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and joyfully volunteered to mow the lawn. He enjoyed gardening, farming, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his dog, Sophie. He was a member of the Pacemaker Car Club and enjoyed rides in his 1929 Ford Model A.
Gary leaves behind three daughters and sons-in-law: Tami and John Morel of Pinconning, MI; Tricia and Chad Peyok of Frankenmuth, MI; and Theresa and Dale Jammer of Frankenmuth, MI, four grandchildren: Collin and Morgyn Morel, Killian and Willow Jammer, and his six siblings: Mary Jane Swincicki, Kenneth Bierlein, Allen (Barb) Bierlein, Stanley (Karen) Bierlein, Nathan (Mary) Bierlein and Jeffrey (Sharon) Bierlein; two brothers-in-law: James Zoellner and James Hart; as well as many nephews and nieces and dear friends.
Besides his wife and parents, Gary was predeceased by four grandchildren: Addison Morel, Andi, Adler and Alton Jammer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Suzanne Zoellner; two sisters-in-law: Mary Hart and Sally Zoellner; and one brother-in-law Victor Swincicki.
Funeral services will take place Monday, December 20, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1200 E. Genesee, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Patrick Ernst will officiate with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Gary's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Covenant VNA Hospice.
