Gary A. Carpenter

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle from suffering a fall causing a severe spinal cord injury Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at his home; age 76 years. Gary was born on June 9, 1945 in Flint, MI. He was married to Shirley Hecht on June 12, 1965 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville, she survives him.

Gary was employed by Delphi until his retirement on June 1, 2007, also over the years he worked at Carling Brewery and McClellan Properties of Frankenmuth.  He was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and always kept busy working on his classic cars, especially his 1955 Chevy Bel Air.

Surviving besides his wife Shirley are one daughter Lisa (Larry) Anderson of Reese, MI and one son Jeff (Krystal Hadaway) Carpenter of Reese, MI; two grandchildren Chris and Joshua Anderson; two brothers Ron (Wendy) Carpenter and Gerald (Pat) Carpenter; one sister Barb Cuneaz; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Fabian and Mary Carpenter; and brother-in-law Bill Cuneaz.

Funeral service will take place on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church with burial to follow in St. Lorenz Cemetery. Gary's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin Street on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
