George M. Genow

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 16, 2018, at St. Mary's Medical Center; age 69 years.  George was born on April 26, 1949 in Bay City, MI to the late George and Florence Geno.   George was married to Lee Corbat on September 1, 1973, she survives him. George was employed at GM SMCO Saginaw for 42 years. He was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, Father Norman Van Poppelen Council #7233. George was an active volunteer in his community.

Surviving besides his wife Lee are his children: Jonathan (Sara) Genow of Vassar, MI, Brandon (Lisa) Genow of Saginaw, MI, Kristin (Kyle) Pletcher of Buena Vista, MI and Marissa (Jeff) Forbes of Bridgeport, MI: 7 Grandchildren; Gavin and Annabelle Genow, Keegan, Kolton, and Korbin Pletcher, Mya Genow and Izik Forbes: 3 brothers; Wayne, Gary, and Robert Geno: 2 sisters-in-law; Lynn Corbat and Lisa (Paul) Rassette: 1 brother-in-law; Clair "Vince" (Mary Ann) Corbat: 1 special nephew Steven (Karla) Turner: Special pets Elie and Cutiepie.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 958 E. Tuscola Rd., Frankenmuth, Michigan.  Father Pat O'Connor will officiate with cremation to follow.  George's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  There will be a Prayer Service on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Saginaw County Underground Railroad or CAN Council of Saginaw County.
