George Hester

Frankenmuth, MI

George Hester, age 79, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024.  George was born November 28, 1944, to the late Dr. Eustace and Anna (Bland) Hester.  He married Gail Heuer on November 2, 1974.  She predeceased him in 2021.  He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.  George retired from WJRT TV-12 after working as an Audio Engineer for over 35 years.  Many remember George as a "Man of Few Words".  He loved genealogy research and when asked a question would often ponder to make sure he gave the right answer.  George leaves his daughter, Emily (Dennis) McDonagh and his two granddaughters, Grace and Rose; his brother William (Bogda) Hester; and sister Jane (Ken) Thomas along with his sister-in-law Lynn (Les) Brooks; good friend Val Stamper and several nieces and nephews.  George was preceded in death by his brother Tom Hester.

Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin Street.  Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate.  Cremation has taken place. George's family will receive visitors on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Humane Society of Genesee County, American Legion Post 150, or First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw.
