Obituary

Gerald Edwin Frank

Frankenmuth, MI

Went to be with the Lord on Palm Sunday, March 25, 2018; age 73 years.  Gerald Frank was born on September 7, 1944, son of the late Edwin and Edna (Mayer) Frank.   He was a life-long member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church where he was baptized, confirmed and then married Ann Daenzer on May 14, 1968.  Jerry faithfully served on numerous church boards and committees.  He also was a member of the Lions Club.

Family was very important to him.  In May, Jerry and Ann would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  When their children were young, Jerry and his three sons were involved in the Boy Scouts. Over the years, he also remembered others by giving the gift of life through his donations of over seven gallons of blood to the Michigan Blood Bank.  Jerry worked for over 40 years at the GM-Delphi plant in Saginaw, Michigan.  He enjoyed numerous trips with his wife, children and grandchildren to their cabin in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Surviving besides his wife, Ann, are three sons: Christopher (Jenny) Frank, Saginaw, Jeremy (Janet) Frank, Frankenmuth, and Anthony (Liege) Frank of Orion Township; eight grandchildren: Garrett, Lauren, Eli, Nathan, Brandon, Marissa, Claire and Troy; three brothers: Eugene "Smokey" (Deanna) Frank, Robert (Nancy) Frank, and Dennis Frank, all of Frankenmuth.  Also surviving are his in-laws, Betty (John) Kueffner, Jacob Daenzer and Leo (Gerry) Daenzer, all of Frankenmuth.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and Lorna Daenzer, and his sister-in-law, Jane Daenzer.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.  Rev. Shawn Fenske will officiate with cremation to follow.  Jerry's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the St. Lorenz Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Valley Lutheran High School Building Fund.
