Gladys L. Kreil

Passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Bickford Assisted Living, Midland; age 93 years. Gladys Schluckebier was born on March 1, 1933 to the late Louis and Martha Schluckebier. She was married to Harold Kreil on August 16, 1952; he predeceased her on September 19, 2013. Gladys worked at Frankenmuth Family Dental, and after retirement the Pinocchio Miniature Shop. She was a lifelong member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church; she attended Christian Women in her retirement. Harold and Gladys enjoyed traveling and collecting miniatures and building elaborate Victorian dollhouses. Gladys also loved reading since childhood.

Surviving are her sons Pastor Dennis (Cynthia) Kreil of Midland, MI and Dr. Duane (Debbie) Kreil of West Bloomfield, MI; grandchildren Katherine Kreil, Elizabeth Kreil, and Emma (Devon) Kreil-McInnis; great-grandson Sam Kreil, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Gladys was preceded in death by a grandson Stephen Kreil; a sister Marian (Ed) Kueffner, and a brother Jack Schluckebier, formerly married to Connie and later to Irene.

Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Gladys' family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Friday, May 1st from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the James E. Wickson Memorial Library or the St. Lorenz Music Department.
