Obituary

Glen Duane Thompson, age 85, of Frankenmuth peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 6 with family by his side.

Glen was born on September 21, 1937, in Alger, Ohio. The son of Elwood and Katherine Thompson. He graduated from Ashland High School and then attended Great Lakes Navy Training Center. Following a medical discharge, he lived in Ohio with his first wife, Linda. After her passing, he met Jennifer, and they were married on April 18, 1992.

Glen spent most of his life in the insurance industry until he retired in 2004. He was a coach and mentor for many young professionals who credit their success to Glen's enthusiasm and training. While in Ohio, Glen was active in the Mason Lodge and Al Koran Shriners. Glen loved being outside: mowing lawns, edging, playing in the garden, and snow blowing. He loved fishing and hunting across the United States including many trips to the Great Lakes and Upper Peninsula. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and spent many Saturday afternoons with family and friends enjoying their games.

Glen is survived by his bride, Jennifer. They were married 31 years. He is also survived by his three sons: Blair (Julie) Thompson of Lenexa, KS, Brent (Michelle) Thompson of Las Vegas, NV, and Matthew (Elizabeth) Thompson of Holden, MA, two grandchildren: Caitlin and Stephen Thompson of Lenexa, KS, and his sister, Nadine Angus of Ashland, OH.

Glen was predeceased by his brother, Curtis.

Glen wanted to express a special thank you to his caregivers, Aubrey and Yvonne, Steve, Cindy and Emily May, and the staff at Covenant Glen and Wellspring Hospice for all their endless support and care.
