Finished his time on earth and took Jesus's hand to his eternal home on Reformation Sunday, October 30, 2022, at his home; age 87 years. Glenn was born on April 28, 1935 at home on the family farm to the late Norman and Anna Mossner. Glenn graduated from Vassar High School in 1953. He joined the Army in 1956 and served until 1958. He was married to Marlene Schreiner on August 15, 1959 at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church; she predeceased him on June 1, 2019 after nearly 60 years of marriage.
Glenn was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville and was active in the Lutheran Laymens League, Richville Conservation Club, and helped establish the Bethesda Thrift Store. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Glenn was also a lifelong farmer, he was passionate about agriculture and his happy place was in the field.
Glenn also enjoyed spending his winters in Englewood, Florida at the Holiday Travel Park for the past 40 years where he was a friend and legend to all. He also was a seasonal member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where he faithfully attended and served.
Surviving are his 3 children; John (Connie) Mossner of Frankenmuth, MI, Sue Rogner (Marc Watkins) of Frankenmuth, MI, Anna (Kirk) Meyer of Pittsford, NY; grandchildren Kendra (JC) Wegner, grandpa's special boy Jacob Mossner, Kevin (Kristen) Rogner, Eric (Andrea) Rogner, Jonah, Jack, and Waylan Meyer; great-grandsons Camden and Noah Rogner; sisters Alice (Dave) Wigley and Frances Emling; sisters-in-law Barbara Mossner and Marian Mossner; and brother-in-law Jerold Schreiner
Glenn was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marlene; his brothers Ruben (Dorothy) Mossner, Carl Mossner, and Roy Mossner and brother-in-law Dr. Fred Emling.
The Mossner family would like to extend a special thank you to Diane for her loving care of Dad over the past few months.
Funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 3455 S. Van Buren Rd., Richville, MI. Rev. Wesley Gillaspie will officiate with burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Glenn's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Michigan Heroes Museum of Frankenmuth, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or a charity of one's choice.
