Gloria Frazee

(March 15, 1931 – February 12, 2022

Frankenmuth, Michigan

On Saturday, February 12, 2022 Gloria Frazee beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Great Aunt joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at her eternal Heavenly Home.  She was 90.

Gloria Jeannine Bowman's journey began on March 15, 1931.  She was born at the Cecil and Cora Bowman family home in Fenton, Michigan.  Just three years old, brother Dean "helped his Mommy" with her birth.  Gloria was baptized from the Methodist Church.  She later attended school in Corunna where she was a Corunna High School class officer and cheerleader.  She graduated Corunna High School in 1949.   Gloria loved attending CHS alumni banquets throughout the years, especially with her brothers, and reminiscing with classmates.

Bernard (Bernie) Frazee from Owosso went to the nearby Corunna High School football games and first spotted Gloria cheerleading.  On October 27, 1951 they were married and resided in Midland, Owosso and Corunna before settling in Frankenmuth in 1961 with their young daughters.  Gloria loved the home where they lived and never wanted to move from Frankenmuth.

In 1962, Bernie and Gloria became Founding and Charter Members of the Frankenmuth United Methodist Church.  They shared a great sense of pride and accomplishment building their Church. Gloria served as Secretary for Methodist Women's Society of Christian Service for many years, participated in fundraising holiday bazaars and Fishin' for Missions to support the growth of her Church and the charities it supports.

Gloria worked for Universal in Owosso, the Frankenmuth Post Office and retired after two decades of service with Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance Company.

Along with love for her family, Gloria enjoyed cruise ship and charter bus travelling, camping in northern Michigan with family and friends, watching and rooting for all Michigan State games, baking, reading, playing Euchre and Skip Bo, greeting dogs and their owners as they passed by their garage for their walks and enjoying a glass of wine and conversation in the sunroom with friends.  All made life enjoyable for Gloria in her retirement days.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bernie; two daughters and sons-in-law Mary Patterson (Pat) of Summerfield, Florida and Ann Tinker (Tim) of Loudon, Tennessee.  She is also survived by Grandsons Matthew Dinse (Great-Granddaughter Lucy) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Derek Tinker of Memphis, Tennessee.  She is further survived by her sister-in-law Bertha Montgomery of Jupiter, Florida, her Goddaughter Kristine Szeszulski (Roger) of Midland and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Donald and wife Vivian Bowman, Dean and wife Rosemary Bowman and her sister Joyce Morgan.

Gloria's family would like to sincerely thank her wonderful Church friends and neighbors who assisted Gloria in the final years of her life, particularly Sherry Oliver.  Her family is eternally grateful for the love and support she received.

A private memorial will take place.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Frankenmuth United Methodist Church.
