Grace E. Rau

Passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 26, 2022 at her home; age 86 years.  Grace Krapohl was born on January 29, 1936 in Cheboygan, MI to the late Roy and Grace Krapohl. She was married to her best friend and the love of her life, Floyd Rau, for over 68 years.  They were married on January 29, 1954, he survives her. Grace was a loving mother and raised her four children at home. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church since October of 1960. Grace was a wonderful cook and wrote her own cookbook. Together Floyd and Grace loved to travel and visited over 40 countries and 5 continents.

Surviving besides her husband Floyd are four children: Roger Rau of Bridgeport, MI, Randy (Connie) Rau of Indianapolis, IN, Linda (Tony) Fortunato of Greenacres, FL, and Cindy (Scott) Martini of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren Mindi Coombs, Ryan (Jessica) Rau, Anthony (Zarina) Fortunato, Samantha (Jarrett) Campbell, Tyler (Abby) Martini, and Danielle Martini; seven great grandchildren; one sister Dorothy Devereaux; and two sisters-in-law Lois Steffen and Ruth Riedeman.

Grace was preceded in death by her grandson Austin Martini, her great grandson Kevin Coombs and her two brothers, LeRoy Krapohl and Robert Rector.

Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 6065 King Rd. Bridgeport, MI 48722.  Rev. Rheanna Goodrich will officiate with entombment to follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Grace's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
