Irene (Ikes) Esther Bickel

Thanksgiving came early for Irene. After her fervent prayer she was delivered to the arms of her Savior on Monday, November 23, 2020; age 94 years. Irene Heine was born on June 10, 1926 in Frankenmuth, MI. She was married to Edward G. Bickel on June 6, 1947; he predeceased her. Irene was a member of the St. Lorenz choir, treble choir, Bavarian Singers, Lotta Noise Club, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Missionary Guild. Irene enjoyed bowling, she bowled for 61 years.

Surviving are her children Brian (Susan) Bickel of Tucson, AZ, Kim (Carol) Bickel of Saginaw, MI, Rodney (Denise) Bickel of Frankenmuth, MI; grandchildren Elliot (Melissa) Bickel, Ryan (Sue) Bickel, Kristen (John) Swaton , Michael (Kristine) Bickel, Jared (Michelle) Bickel, Aaron Bickel, Adrienne Bickel; dear great grandchildren Matthew, Cody, Andrew, Ben, Katie, Beth, Gabriella, Sebastian, Dylan and Madison; sisters-in-law Marie Creger, Frances Warnemuende; brother-in-law Dave Maves.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents Edwin G. Heine and Ida P. (Waschilewsky) Heine; siblings Dorothy Nuechterlein, Theodore (Ted) Heine, Meta (Schutt/Winkler) Heine, Ernst (Vera) Heine, Milda Burchill, Victor Heine; son Dane C. Bickel.

Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, November 28, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Irene's family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
