James A. Myers Sr.

Burt, MI

Passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital; age 75 years.  James was born on March 16, 1946 in Saginaw, MI to Nadine and the late Gene Myers. He was married to Virginia Reinbold on January 15, 1966 in Reese, MI. She survives him. James was employed by Saginaw Steering Gear for 30 years, he then went on to own and operate Myers Taxidermy. He was a member of Mt. Sinai Lutheran Church in Montrose, where he was a treasurer, and in his later years he took on the role of the financial advisor for the church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends. James had many hobbies, but he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taxidermy. He was an animal lover and raised chickens, foxes, and rabbits. James was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Shiawassee Flats, and the Michigan Bird and Game Association, along with many other organizations.

Surviving besides his wife Virginia is one son: James (Crystal) Myers; grandchildren Brandon (Morgan) Myers and Danyelle Myers; great grandson Chase; mother Nadine Myers; brother Dan (Jeanette) Myers; mother-in-law Vera Talaski; brothers-in-law Robert (Marlene) Reinbold and Dennis (Mary) Reinbold; and many nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his father Gene Myers; father-in-law Robert Reinbold Sr.; and step father-in-law Julius Talaski.

Memorial service will take place on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Lutheran Church, 11356 Seymour Rd. Montrose, MI 48457.  Rev. Jeffrey Schmidt will officiate.
