Janet S. Zehnder

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away peacefully with family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Covenant Medical Center Harrison; age 74 years. Janet Lockhart was born on September 5, 1949 in Bay City, MI to the late William and Charlene Lockhart. She married John Zehnder on August 23, 1968; he survives her. She was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Janet's main passion was her family, and her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She was known among her tight-knit group for her lemon bars and hand rolled noodles in her chicken noodle soup. Janet enjoyed giving out her homemade chex mix.

Surviving besides her husband John are two sons John (Audrey) Zehnder of Chicago, IL and Bob (Fran) Zehnder of Frankenmuth, MI; beloved grandchildren Jackson and Caroline; three brothers Gordon Lockhart, Robert (Lisa) Lockhart, William Lockhart, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Janet was preceded in death by one sister Carol Fellows, great-niece Danielle Laing, and lifelong friend Margaret Besey.

According to Janet's wishes a private service will take place. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital, or St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.
