Joanne E. Spencer

Caseville, MI formerly of Alma, MI

Passed away peacefully with family by her side, Friday June 9, 2023 at Bavarian Comfort Care; age 80 years. Joanne was born on March 16, 1943 in Bay City, MI to the late Robert and Rose Cornell. She graduated from Jackson High School, later receiving her associate degree and meeting her husband Duane in Albion Michigan. Duane predeceased her on August 18, 1998.

She worked at Lear Corporation as an accountant until her retirement. Joanne enjoyed spending time reading, doing crossword puzzles, spending time in Arizona and Caseville, traveling and spending time with her family. She loved her cats and traveled with them.

Surviving are two sons David (Tanya) Spencer of Saginaw, MI, Scott (Jill Tesman) Spencer of Frankenmuth, MI; six grandchildren Olivia Spencer, Ashley (Eddie) Hamilton, Kayla O'Keefe, Caitlyn O'Keefe, Cameron Spencer, Carson Spencer, and many cousins and close friends.

Besides her husband Duane, Joanne was preceded in death by her sister Mary Sue Cornell.

Funeral service will take place on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin Street. Burial to take place in Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater, Michigan. Joanne's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
