Loving wife, mother, grandmother passed away unexpectedly at her home on

Sunday, Jan 21, 2018; age 52 years. Jodi Mendyk was born on August 19, 1965, in Saginaw, MI to the late Eugene and Rosalea Mendyk. Jodi was married to Kevin Schmitzer on June 20, 1987; Kevin survives her. Jodi volunteered her time at the Franklin Avenue Mission and was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.

Surviving besides her husband Kevin are; 2 daughters Haley Schmitzer (and her fiancée Tyler Davis) of Frankenmuth, and Kayla (Joshua) Taylor of Reese, Michigan, 2 sisters; Sherri Mendyk of West Palm Beach, Florida and Therese Sue (Dan) Mendyk-Ashby of Ft. Knox, Kentucky. 2 brothers; Donnie Mendyk of Florida and Darryl Mendyk of Florida, 2 nephews; Joshua Wirt and Chad (April) Mendyk, also 1 granddaughter, Riley Taylor.

Jodi was preceded in death by 1 brother; Eugene Allen Mendyk.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 26, 2018, at 10:15 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St., Frankenmuth, Michigan and 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.  Rev. Shawn Fenske will officiate with burial between services in St. Lorenz Cemetery.  Jodi's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Franklin Avenue Mission or St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.
