John "JR" Wiegand Jr.

Bridgeport, MI

In memory of John "JR" Wiegand, Jr., loving husband, dad, brother, grandpa, and great grandpa. JR went home to be with the Lord, on November 3rd, 2022.

JR enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and woodworking. He retired from General Motors after 38 years of service and was a member of Frankenmuth Woodcarvers for many years. JR created numerous carvings and handmade knives. He was a member of the Shriners, drove the bus for Shriners Children's Hospital and worked many of the Shriner Circus events with his wife, Nancy. He was Past Master of Saginaw Masonic Lodge 154 and Bridgeport Masonic Lodge 258, and member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church.

JR is survived by his wife, Nancy of 63 years; his son, John M. (Brenda) Wiegand; grandchildren, Angie Gross, Brenton (Lynnette) Wiegand, and Colton (Courtney) Wiegand; and eight great-grandchildren, Dustin, Jason, Landen, Carsen, Hayden, Madisen, Emmett and Alyna. He is also survived by his brother, Robert (Kathleen) Wiegand of Bridgeport; sister, Kate (Larry) Erdman of Florida; his nephews; and sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Fred Strickland.

JR was pre-deceased by his daughter, Deborah Wiegand; his parents, John (Sr.) and Rose Wiegand; and sister, Rose Mary.

According to John's wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Immanuel Lutheran School of Frankentrost Fund.
