John Herbert Kamm
Frankenmuth, MI
March 18, 1959 – April 28, 2022
The family of friends of John Herbert Kamm, 63, of Frankenmuth, are mourning his death while celebrating a life well lived. He passed away peacefully, after a lengthy and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Special friend and care giver Sherry Gubbins was by his side.
He was the son of Donald and Elsie Kamm. A brother to Jeannie M. Kamm. All of whom preceded him in death.
Surviving is one uncle, Neil Guyette, several cousins, and many lifelong very close friends.
John was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Saginaw. Was confirmed at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth. Currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bay City, Michigan.
He was a 1977 graduate of Frankenmuth High School. He attended Central Michigan University and later the University of Michigan.
John was truly blessed with 44 years as a self-employed tax professional. His clients and friends were one of John's most treasured parts of his life.
John was a man of few words, but in an instant he could light up a room, party, or ordinary day with his full faced grin and mischievous twinkle in his eye. That grin and twinkle usually meant something fun was about to happen. He was a one-of-a-kind friend to many, many people. Countless great times, smiles and laughs have been shared throughout his life.
His passion for plum colored Dodge Challengers led him to become an active member of the Challenger Auto Club. He was a member for more than 40 years. John also belonged to the Moose Lodge in Birch Run and the Eagles club in Vassar.
Another of John's favorite hobbies was traveling. He was always up for a "good island adventure".
Other passions included recreational boating and offshore powerboat racing. He was a certified scuba diver. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, playing cards, particularly poker, and competitive billiards. He was a very skilled player. John could also be found golfing, camping, and cruising around on his motorcycle. Recently he cherished reacquainting with high school classmates.
Upon his diagnosis with cancer John could often be heard saying, "We got a whole lot of livin' to do and a short time to do it in". He will be deeply missed.
