Jutta Luhde

Frankenmuth, MI formerly of Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Passed away peacefully at home of natural causes on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Independence Village (now Winter Village) where she lived since 1993. Jutta was born on July 27, 1924 in Hamburg, Germany where she lived until young adulthood. She then moved to the United States, living in New York City, Boston, and Pittsfield, Massachusetts, before moving to Frankenmuth. Jutta received her Master of Science degree in the field of library science from Simmons College (now University) in Boston, Massachusetts, and retired as Director of the Medical Library at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Jutta was a life-long avid reader and travelled widely in the U.S. and internationally, loved dogs, and took great interest in the lives of her two nieces and their families.

Surviving are: her brother and his wife, Friedrich and Ingeborg Luhde, and nieces Tania Luhde and Britta Battaile (nee Luhde).

As she requested, Jutta will be laid to rest in Hamburg, Germany, next to her parents. Arrangements entrusted to Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth.
