Passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital; age 68 years. Kathy Heine was born on June 28, 1949, in Saginaw, MI to the late Theodore and Lorna Heine. She was married to John A. Spencer on August 2, 1969; he survives her. Kathy was employed by Frankenmuth Insurance for 39 years until her retirement in 2010. She was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth and Zion Lutheran Church in Petoskey.
Surviving besides her husband are one brother, Terry (Cindy) Heine of Grand Ledge, MI; one niece, Kristin Heine; one nephew, Scott Heine; her brother-in-law, Ken (Diana) Spencer and his family; three nieces, Dawn (Eric) VanSickle, Trish (Rich) Scharrer and Heather Spencer; and great- nieces and great-nephews, Adam (Hilary) VanSickle, Sheree (fiancée Shane) VanSickle, Kaylee Scharrer, Brendan Scharrer and Emma Roth.
Kathy was preceded in death by one infant brother, Dennis Heine.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St., Frankenmuth, Michigan and 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark D. Brandt will officiate with burial between services in St. Lorenz Cemetery. Kathy's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran Church in Petoskey.
