Kathleen Weiss

Frankenmuth, MI

Peacefully went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Wellspring Lutheran Services; age 89 years. Kathleen Scharrer was born on March 17, 1933 in Birch Run, MI to the late Herman and Lydia Scharrer. She was married to Louie Weiss on August 22, 1953, he survives her.

Kathleen was a life-long member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church where she served on many committees including the Breakthrough Bible Class. She was employed as a buyer and supervisor at the Bavarian Inn Gift Shop for 25 years. Kathleen would like to be remembered for her friendliness, her loving and caring relationships with others, and her strong Christian faith.

Surviving besides her husband are three daughters Marcia (Dave) Burk, Mary Weiss, and Margie (Paul) Bergman; six grandchildren Derek (Heidi) Burk, Chelsea (Steve) Spadafore, Tyler (Lindsey) Weiss, Spencer (fiancé Jill Moreau) Weiss, Kyle Bergman, and Alec Bergman; five great grandchildren Cooper and Ella Weiss, Henry and Rosie Burk, and Luca Spadafore; brother Arnold Scharrer; sister Doris (Bob) Schlaefke; sisters-in-law GloryAnn Scharrer and Lorine Scharrer; and many nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her brothers Clarence, Marvin, and Edgar Scharrer and her sisters Lucille Weiss and Carolyn Scharrer.

Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola St. with burial to follow in St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery.  Kathleen's family will receive visitors at church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to The Louie and Kathleen Weiss Scholarship C/O Frankenmuth Community Foundation.
